988 FM

The station based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, 988 FM is a significant Chinese-language radio programme in Malaysia. It is operated by Star Rfm Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of the renowned Star Media Group. The programme primarily targets a Chinese-speaking audience and combines current pop music with a broad editorial offering. Beyond regular programmes, 988 FM serves as a news platform informing about topical issues, entertainment news, and economic developments.

In addition to its musical orientation – documented by its own music charts featuring artists such as Wang Sulong or Gin Lee – the station focuses on interactive formats and podcasts. The editorial team also engages in local community initiatives, for example by supporting educational and charitable events such as RUN FOR EDUCARE. Listeners can interact with the station via various digital channels, its own mobile app, and social media such as Facebook and Instagram. The company’s headquarters is located in the Menara Star building, from where the diverse content for the Malaysian public is produced.
