About the station
BR Schlager is a digital radio station operated by Bayerischer Rundfunk featuring German-language schlager music and evergreens from past decades. The station can be received primarily via the internet, the ARD Audiothek app and the BR Radio app, but not via an FM frequency.
In addition to music, the program focuses on everyday information as well as topics from Bavaria and the local area. Guests frequently visit the studio live, including schlager stars and new artists. Recordings of these conversations and other broadcasts can be listened to as podcasts via the BR Mediathek.
A regular feature is the ARD Schlagerhitparade, in which BR Schlager, hr4, MDR Schlagerwelt and NDR Schlager participate. Listeners of the participating stations vote weekly on the tracks, reflecting the preferences of a broader audience from several regions.
