Classic 21 – Soul Power

Classic 21 – Soul Power is a digital specialty channel of the Belgian public broadcaster RTBF. As a purely web-based offering, this offshoot complements the programming of the main station Classic 21 and focuses musically exclusively on soul, Motown and related styles. The editorial basis comes from the studios in Brussels and Liège, while broadcasting takes place primarily digitally via the internet.

The repertoire includes historical recordings and genre classics mainly from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. In addition to well-known radio hits, rough funk and deep rhythm-and-blues numbers are played. Classic moderation and spoken segments are largely avoided during ongoing operation, creating a continuous, purely musical flow that deliberately makes the archives of the Belgian broadcaster audible for genre fans.
