Fohlenradio – das Borussia Mönchengladbach Fanradio

Fohlenradio is the fan radio station of Borussia Mönchengladbach and is aimed at supporters of the Bundesliga club from western Germany. The station belongs to the sports category and revolves almost exclusively around the club: match days, the team, the coach and the club’s surroundings in the Mönchengladbach city area and the region.

The club’s website, on which the research is based, mainly offers news, match reports, highlights, interviews, as well as photo and video material about Borussia. These offerings appear there as club coverage and cannot readily be assigned to the radio programme. For classifying the station, it is therefore important that Fohlenradio maintains a fan perspective, meaning its broadcasts are strongly geared towards the supporter base.

Listeners to Fohlenradio therefore get a sports programme with a clear club focus. For Mönchengladbach fans, it complements the nationwide sports offerings, because the focus consistently remains on their own team.
