ITALIA Italia 80

Those who seek the aesthetics and sound of the decade of synthesizers and drum machines will find a dedicated destination at ITALIA Italia 80. This Italian station is devoted exclusively to music production of the 1980s, focusing on both international chart successes and specific Italian pop culture. The rotation features classics of the Italo-Disco wave, whose distinctive arpeggio basses and mechanical rhythms dominate the sonic character of the program. The music selection reflects the spirit of this era, in which electronic innovations gave new impulses to classic pop structures.

Alongside the well-known anthems of the New Wave movement, the program also makes room for the melodic pop that musically shaped Italy during this decade. The tracks are characterized by the typical use of analog synthesizers and reverb-laden drum sounds that make the sound of the 1980s so distinctive. ITALIA Italia 80 functions as a time capsule archive that strictly focuses on the dance floors and radio playlists of that time. Listeners are in for a continuous acoustic portrait of an era in which technical experimentation and catchy melodies formed a symbiotic connection, without being distracted from the musical flow by editorial contributions or interruptions.
