About the station
Kildare’s Kfm broadcasts from the Irish county of Kildare and can be received on 97.6 and 97.3 FM. The station sees itself as a local radio station for the region, not just a pure sports channel. Nevertheless, sport has a firm place within it: on the website, there is a dedicated section for sports news alongside Kildare news and national reports.
The program relies on presenters who are a permanent part of the station. These include Ben Atkinson with the morning show, John Dunne with the lunchtime program, and Paul Power with the afternoon show “K Drive”. The offering is supplemented by traffic information, local features, and podcasts, which can be accessed on the website.
The strong local focus is striking. Reports on communities such as Maynooth, Celbridge, Clane, or Dunlavin as well as death notices from the region form an important part of the offering. The station is one of Ireland’s regional stations and is aimed primarily at listeners in and around Kildare.
