laut.fm – kiosk

Behind laut.fm/kiosk is a web radio project closely connected with the Ruhr area. The station is an integral part of tach.RUHR, a blog and media platform from Essen. As a joint project between the initiators of youbuddy.one and the portal tach.RUHR, the stream serves as an acoustic complement to the editorial concept, which describes itself as “Klartext aus dem Revier” (“plain talk from the Revier”). The programme fits into a local media network that focuses on social, cultural and urban issues from the Ruhr metropolitan region.

Broadcasting is carried out exclusively digitally via the laut.fm platform, which makes it possible to distribute the programme independently of conventional FM frequencies. In terms of content, laut.fm/kiosk accompanies the editorial environment of tach.RUHR, which publishes articles on topics such as football, photography and local urban development. Although the station is technically hosted as an independent stream on the platform, it sees itself as a regional complement to the livestream offering there. The overall project is run by the initiative TACH!, which is based in Essen-Dellwig and from there manages both the website and the radio offering.
