About the station
Via the German user-generated radio platform laut.fm, Mitski Radio broadcasts a curated web stream focused primarily on the musical world of US-American musician Mitski. The programme does without traditional FM frequencies and relies instead on worldwide online distribution via apps, smart speakers and streaming links.
Musically, the station moves within the genres of indie rock, art pop and indie pop. Besides Mitski herself, the focus is above all on female and non-binary-led acts of the contemporary alternative scene. The playlist includes tracks by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, Fiona Apple, Angel Olsen and St. Vincent, as well as ensembles such as boygenius and Big Thief. The musical range extends from stripped-back acoustic ballads to powerful guitar arrangements.
The structure of the stream is based on continuous music rotation without traditional news blocks or classic presenter segments. As a digital specialist channel, the station deliberately caters to listeners who seek out indie and art pop releases away from commercial mainstream radio.
