Pure Dance

The British radio station Pure Dance positions itself as a regional alternative with a clear focus on electronic music. The programme is available via DAB+ in five specific regions, including Milton Keynes, Loughborough, and parts of South Hertfordshire and High Peak. Beyond digital terrestrial radio, the station can be accessed worldwide via webstream and smart speakers. Musically, the spectrum from House, Trance and Techno to Club classics and Balearic sounds forms the core of the offering. The station positions itself as a counterpoint to centralized media offerings and highlights the importance of local scenes.

The programme combines international DJ names with local artists. Regularly broadcast formats include licensed shows such as Toolroom Radio with Mark Knight or Resonation Radio by Ferry Corsten. This line-up is complemented by in-house presenters such as Sean Maynard, who hosts Dance Anthems on weekends. A particular feature is the involvement of the listening audience: through the UDJ section, DJs from the local community can submit their own mixes and actively shape the on-air programme. The 2026 offering thus combines established club formats with a deliberate local community involvement.
