Radio 24 – Shape

Radio 24 – Shape is a dance and electronic special channel of the Swiss radio station Radio 24. Radio 24 is considered the oldest and largest private radio station in Switzerland and was founded in 1979 by Roger Schawinski. Initially broadcast as a pirate radio from Italy (Pizzo Groppera) to circumvent the state monopoly at the time, it received a license in 1983 and relocated to Zurich.

The studios are now located in Zurich’s District 5 in the Löwenbräu area. Radio 24 has belonged to CH Media (NZZ-Regionalmedien und AZ Medien) since 2018. Known for its eventful history with police raids and a petition with over 200,000 signatures, the station offers news, sports, and entertainment. Shape focuses on dance music and is primarily available online.
