Radio Kaakko

Radio Kaakko was a Finnish local radio station that positioned itself as a regional voice in the southeast of the country. The programming focused primarily on pop music alongside local information and accompanied listeners in their daily lives. For a long time, the station team shaped the local media landscape over terrestrial frequencies.

After years of broadcasting, the station has now completely ceased its FM transmission. The responsible parties took this step as a final farewell from the classic analog distribution path.

The concept has not entirely disappeared, however, as the makers are driving the transition to the internet. Under the name SE, a purely internet-based successor service was launched at radiose.fi, continuing the musical and local approach online.
