Radiomegarumba

Radiomegarumba is a digital audio project dedicated entirely to the Latin American music genre of salsa, with a clear focus on the sounds of Peru. The format is distributed via the internet and combines musical expertise with deep cultural context. Behind the project are flutist, conductor, and music educator Isabel González, based in Germany, and marketing expert and podcaster Jesús Vilela, who lives in Rome.

In individual episodes, the creators explore traditional and modern Peruvian salsa trends. Alongside introductions to well-known and newer artists such as Wilmer Cartagena and José Carlos García, in-depth interviews with personalities from the scene form a core part of the program. Past guests include, among others, Sandro Solar of Orquesta N’samble, Gaby Zambrano, and Gerardo Zavaleta of Proyecto Z.
