About the station

Radiomultikulti was a multicultural radio program of Radio Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), aimed at immigrants and those interested in foreign cultures. It broadcast pop music from around the world, including tango, salsa, rap, and Bollywood songs.

It began broadcasting on 18 September 1994 as SFB 4 Multi Kulti. During the day, programming was presented in German; in the evening, it was broadcast in numerous foreign languages such as Spanish, Croatian, Polish, Russian, and Vietnamese. At night, international world music shows from the BBC or WDR were aired.

The program was available in Berlin, Frankfurt (Oder), and Cottbus via FM frequencies and cable. Due to a lack of funding, RBB shut down the station on 31 December 2008. An initiative continues the concept as an internet stream.
