About the station
Radyo Gerçek broadcasts on 93.5 FM from Samsun on the Turkish Black Sea coast. The station describes itself as “Samsun’un gerçek radyosu” (the true radio of Samsun) and as a radio with a “knowledge-themed, modern voice”. The website gives no founding year and no operator.
The programme is predominantly speech-based. In the mornings, Günaydın Samsun presents the newspaper headlines at 7:30 a.m., moderated by Berrak Güngör. Hourly news bulletins are broadcast between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., alongside weather reports for Samsun, the region and other Turkish cities. Health programmes with specialist doctors, a travel format called Yolgezer and Akşam Haberleri at 5:05 p.m. complete the offering.
Musically, the Halk Müziği show stands out in particular, playing traditional Turkish folk songs from an archive daily from 3 a.m. A rock focus, as suggested by the genre information, is not evident on the website. Selected programmes are additionally available as podcasts on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
