SWR1 Baden-Württemberg

SWR1 Baden-Württemberg consistently focuses its program on the music history of the past decades, with the emphasis on the big hits of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The musical selection ranges from classic rock anthems by international stars to timeless pop classics and defining tracks of the German music scene. Characteristic of the program is the inclusion of journalistic content that focuses on regional topics from Baden-Württemberg as well as current political and social news. The station serves as a reliable source of information for an audience that appreciates not only a familiar music selection but also well-founded classification and current reporting from its own federal state.

Particularly formative for listeners is the SWR1 Hitparade format, which regularly dominates the program and puts interaction with the audience at the forefront. During the rest of the year, established program blocks shape the daily schedule, which, alongside music, regularly gives experts a voice. The hosts accompany through the day, employing a professional, matter-of-fact tone that deliberately avoids exaggerated animation. With this structure, SWR1 Baden-Württemberg positions itself as a solid medium that manages the balance between archived pop successes and the up-to-date depiction of events right on its own doorstep.
