laut.fm – Untergrund Web-Radio

The Untergrund Web-Radio understood itself for many years as the digital address for independent hip-hop culture in Germany. As a pure web radio without commercial FM frequencies, the program consistently focused on rap subculture, local underground tapes, DJ mixes, and the targeted promotion of newcomers away from the major charts. The project provided a platform for artists who received no airtime on traditional radio or major commercial stations.

However, the station’s operation has now been permanently discontinued. The official online presence has been taken off the net, as the associated website has been deleted and is no longer available. Thus, another chapter of German-language niche radio came to an abrupt end. What remains is above all the documentation of a station that stood uncompromisingly for hard boom bap, conscious rap, and the roots of the German hip-hop movement for years.
