About the station
WGNY operates under the name “Fox Oldies 98.9 FM” and focuses on music from the 1970s. The program thus caters to listeners who miss the sound of that decade: catchy melodies, warm guitar sounds, soul and funk grooves, as well as the great pop hits of the era that still resonate on the radio today.
The name refers to an oldies format featuring tracks from a clearly defined era rather than a broad mix of decades. Anyone turning on the radio will primarily hear familiar tunes that have remained in the collective memory for decades.
We have no verified information regarding the coverage area, owners, presenters, or individual shows. The station represents the classic oldies approach in the USA, whose strength lies in the recognizability of its music.
