1.FM – Adore Jazz

Operated by the US online radio network 1.FM, the digital specialty channel 1.FM – Adore Jazz is aimed at lovers of classical and contemporary jazz music. The musical curation focuses on the rich history of this genre, which originated in the USA. Listeners can expect sophisticated arrangements ranging from the historical roots of blues and ragtime to modern styles. At the heart of it all are expressive instrumental solos, complex harmonies, and the characteristic improvisation that defines this genre worldwide.

The programme brings the acoustic atmosphere of traditional jazz clubs directly to digital devices. The playlist includes renowned milestones of swing, bebop, cool jazz, and hard bop. Alongside purely instrumental pieces with a focus on saxophone, trumpet, double bass, and piano, legendary vocal jazz recordings also find their place in the stream. By deliberately focusing on the music, the station forgoes moderated spoken contributions and instead concentrates on the pure flow of the pieces. This offers listeners a well-informed acoustic journey through the decades of jazz history.
