Atomic City with Skip Bombwell

Behind the Canadian online stream Atomic City with Skip Bombwell is a conceptual retro station led by Commander Clement Skip Bombwell, broadcast via the TorontoCast network. The programming is dedicated to the aesthetics of the Cold War and broadcasts around the clock over the internet. The musical focus is on Easy Listening, Exotica, and pop music from the 1950s, 1960s, and early 1970s.

The tonal foundation is built by artists such as Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Bert Kaempfert, and Henry Mancini, supplemented by film themes and novelty hits. In addition to the regular weekday rotation, the format Kon Tiki! runs from Friday evening to Monday morning, while on Wednesdays the Swinging 40s Show! is additionally on the schedule. The concept is complemented by historical government propaganda and humorous station ID elements inspired by the atomic age.
