laut.fm – Retro 80

The channel laut.fm – Retro 80 focuses entirely on the music history of the decade that united electronic synthesizer sounds with catchy pop melodies. The program maps a sonic journey through time that encompasses both the early phases of New Wave and the great stadium anthems of Synth-Pop. Listeners encounter a broad range of genres that shaped this era: from the driving rhythms of the disco era to the melancholic soundscapes of dark Wave classics. The music selection focuses on iconic productions that were style-defining for the eighties and are still considered a reference point for modern sound design today.

As part of the laut.fm platform, the program is defined by a user-generated structure in which the passion for eighties-specific sound carriers takes center stage. The playlist foregoes modern chart interruptions and instead concentrates on the deliberate play with the analog charm of the studio technology of that time. It is a destination for lovers of drum computer beats, distinctive bass lines, and dramatic vocal performances, which manages without the usual moderation blocks. Through this purist approach of pure music rotation, listeners gain direct access to the soundtracks of an entire generation, without being distracted by commercial spoken contributions.
