Antenne Saar

Antenne Saar is an information programme of Saarland Broadcasting (SR), which launched on 12 December 2005. It evolved from the former SR Info and is characterised by a distinctive German-French character.

During the daytime, the programme largely carries content from SWR’s information channel SWR Aktuell, supplemented by current French-language broadcasts from Radio France Internationale (RFI). Individual contributions come from SR 2 Kulturradio. Antenne Saar serves as a broadcast channel for parliamentary debates from the Bundestag, the Bundesrat, and the state parliament, as well as the audio feed from Phoenix during events. The Italian-language programme Mezz’Ora Italiana is broadcast on weekends.

The programme is available throughout Saarland via DAB+ and can be received as a live stream on the internet. Until the end of 2015, it was also available on medium wave 1179 kHz in Heusweiler.
