BBC Radio 3

The British broadcasting organisation the BBC offers, with BBC Radio 3, a long-established cultural programme for listeners in the United Kingdom and around the world. The focus of the broadcast is on classical music, ranging from Baroque masterpieces through the Classical and Romantic periods to contemporary compositions of the 21st century. As a public broadcaster, the programme relies on well-informed editorial coverage that gives listeners deeper insights into the history behind the works and the lives of the composers.

Alongside studio-based music programmes, live broadcasts of concerts and opera performances define the station’s profile. The close collaboration with the BBC’s own orchestras and choirs enables exclusive recordings and live experiences in high broadcast quality. The musical offering is complemented by thoughtful spoken-word contributions, arts reports and literary programmes, making BBC Radio 3 a central cultural institution in British broadcasting.
