ffn Comedy

ffn Comedy is a digital radio station of the Lower Saxon private radio radio ffn, specializing in comedy content. It originated from the legendary show Frühstyxradio, which started in 1988 at radio ffn and reached over 550,000 listeners on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with anarchic humor.

The show, initiated by contributions such as Der kleine Tierfreund by Dietmar Wischmeyer, became a milestone of German radio comedy. With characters by K.D. Richter, Sabine Bulthaupt, Andreas Liebold and Oliver Kalkofe (Onkel Hotte), it set standards. Despite a temporary cancellation in 1992 by program director Peter Bartsch, it returned after listener protests. The original show ran until 1996, with repeats following until 1998.

Since March 2008, ffn Comedy has been available as a 24/7 web stream, in which Frühstyxradio contributions are integrated into the music program hourly. The station targets fans of classic radio humor from the ffn tradition.
