La Grosse Radio Reggae

La Grosse Radio Reggae is a French digital radio station that has been operating since 2003 as part of an independent media project. Behind the ad-free offering is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting newcomers and independent artists. In addition to its reggae programming, the organization runs two further channel divisions for rock and metal. The station operates as a purely web-based medium and is part of a larger network that also includes editorial web magazines.

The musical focus is on Reggae, Dub and Dancehall. A particular feature is the emphasis on militant and self-produced music, which gives many artists outside the major labels a platform. Beyond the pure music rotation, the project links its content with the associated webzine, which publishes reviews, concert reports and video selections. Through its rejection of commercial structures and its specialization in the underground scene, the station has established itself as a fixed institution in the French web radio landscape.
