Radio K.W. – Dein Karnevals Radio

With Radio K.W. – Dein Karnevals Radio, there is a German audio offering that is entirely dedicated to carnival culture and the traditions associated with it. At the heart of the programme is German Schlager music in all its facets, complemented by traditional carnival music, party hits and well-known Fastelovend songs, as they are played at gala sittings and Rose Monday parades.

The musical focus specifically conveys the emotional energy of costume parties, cap sessions and swaying festival tents. Instead of classic format radio elements, the acoustic picture is mainly shaped by hearty street anthems, sing-along hymns and rhythmic party Schlager, which are inseparably linked with German carnival.

The programme is thus aimed at an audience that loves the fifth season and is looking for the soundtrack to go with it. In doing so, the station occupies a special niche within the German radio landscape, where folk entertainment and classic German Schlager merge.
