About the station
Radio Mainwelle is a local station from Bayreuth whose broadcast area covers Upper Franconia. The focus is on regional relevance: the website advertises its news as “The news – from here!” and bundles reports from Bayreuth, the region’s districts, and the cities of Hof and Kulmbach. Sources cited by the service include its own editorial contributions as well as material from partners such as NEWS5 and Funkhaus Bayreuth.
In addition to news, the station focuses on music, which Mainwelle understands as its own distinctive style. The playlist on the website features mainly pop and rock titles, predominantly well-known hits. The programme is supplemented by event listings for Bayreuth and the surrounding area, as well as by campaigns through which the station makes its presence felt in the region.
For listeners who primarily want to know what is happening in Upper Franconia, Mainwelle is thus a point of contact with a clear focus on local topics.
