About the station
Retro-Radio JUL is the Christmas channel in the Danish Retro-Radio network. The station carries the subtitle “Jul som i de gode gamle dage”, meaning Christmas as in the good old days. It can be received via the network’s website, which describes itself as “Danmarks Retro-Radio”.
The focus is on classic Christmas songs and festive music, as it has been heard in Denmark during Advent for decades. The sister programme Retro-Radio plays oldies from earlier decades, and Retro-Radio Millennium plays music from the 1990s to the present day. JUL is the seasonal channel of the network.
Listeners can submit their own song requests via their own Ønskekø, i.e. a queue for requested titles that is displayed on the website. The service is free of charge.
