RTM Negeri FM

Behind RTM Negeri FM lies a state-run radio offering from Malaysia, operating as part of the Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) network. The station focuses on disseminating current pop music and serves as a cultural interface in the various states of the country. With a programme strongly oriented towards local identity and the linguistic nuances of the regions, Negeri FM acts as a voice for regional concerns and connects them with a modern musical entertainment offering. The station’s sound world is shaped by a mix of Malaysian pop productions and international chart hits, making it accessible to a broad audience across the various states.

The editorial orientation reflects the public mandate, which, besides pure music broadcasting, also includes current information and locally specific news. The spoken-word programme complements the musical segments and ensures that listeners stay informed about events in their immediate surroundings. Through this structure, RTM Negeri FM occupies a central role in the Malaysian media landscape. The station refrains from a purely commercial orientation and instead opts for a down-to-earth programme design that places both musical entertainment and the flow of information in focus. Thus it serves an audience that values local rootedness and the embedding of current pop trends in a regional context.
