StarSat Radio

STARSAT RADIO is a German radio station with an eventful history beginning in 1987. Founded by Jo Lüders and Peter Pelunka in Munich, STARSAT RADIO was Germany’s first satellite radio and went on air in 1988. The station played commercial-free pop music and reached a large audience via satellite and cable. After ceasing operations in 2008, the brand was revived in 2013 by radio B2 GmbH. Today, STAR*SAT RADIO broadcasts under the motto “Super 80s • Super 90s • Super Hits!” via DAB+ in Berlin and Hamburg, targeting listeners aged 30 to 55. The program combines music from the 1980s and 1990s with current charts and provides hourly news and weather reports.
