Antenne Bayern

From Ismaning in Upper Bavaria, Antenne Bayern broadcasts a statewide programme that has shaped the radio landscape in the Free State since its launch in 1988. Through a dense network of FM frequencies as well as nationwide via DAB+, the private broadcaster reaches an audience of millions every day. Distinctive formats such as the morning show Guten Morgen Bayern with long-standing presenters like Wolfgang Leikermoser define the acoustic daily routine. In addition to regional news from the Bavarian administrative districts, closely spaced service elements such as the traffic service and detailed weather reports form fixed pillars of the daily broadcast.

Musically, the programme focuses on a format that combines current productions from the international charts with well-known hits from the 1980s and 1990s. The focus is on melodic pop and rock that addresses mainstream taste. The technical reach is supplemented by numerous digital spin-offs and themed streams that delve into specific music genres. As one of the most widely heard private stations in Germany, the operator is funded exclusively through advertising revenue and also serves as an important training ground for young journalists in the Bavarian media landscape.
