Bayrak Klasik

Bayrak Klasik is a classical music radio station of the Bayrak Radyo Televizyon Kurumu (BRTK), the public broadcaster of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It broadcasts on FM frequency 88.4 MHz in Nicosia (Lefkoşa) and is available online via stream. BRTK was founded in 1963 as Bayrak Radyo to give the Turkish-Cypriot communities their own voice. The first broadcast took place on 25 December 1963 from a garage in Nicosia with limited coverage.

The programme includes classical music as well as news, sports, art, education and cultural content. FM stereo broadcasts were introduced in 1983. Bayrak Klasik targets listeners in the Northern Cyprus broadcast area and is part of the BRTK offering with several radio stations. There used to be German-language programmes, which have since been discontinued.
