Bayrak Radyo Haber

Bayrak Radyo Haber is a Turkish-language news broadcaster of the Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation (BRT), the public broadcasting institution of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The BRT was founded in 1963 in response to intercommunal conflicts to represent Turkish Cypriot interests. The first broadcast of Bayrak Radio took place on 25 December 1963 from a garage in Nicosia with limited range. As of February 1964, the station could be received island-wide on medium wave. Bayrak Radyo Haber provides continuous news coverage and is part of several BRT radio channels that are broadcast on UKW and streamed online.

The programme includes current news from Northern Cyprus and international news. The BRT expanded in 1976 to include television offerings and gradually modernised its technology, including FM stereo from 1983.
