Reggae Universe – Lovers Rock Starz Radio

Broadcasting from the United Kingdom, Reggae Universe – Lovers Rock Starz Radio offers a programme entirely devoted to Jamaican music. At its centre is the subgenre of Lovers Rock, which emerged mainly in London in the late 1960s and 1970s. Musically, gentle riddims, melodic bass lines and soulful vocal harmonies shape the acoustic profile, linking the soul influence of the British scene with Caribbean roots.

The station captures the specific atmosphere of British reggae and sound system culture. It conveys the relaxed yet danceable groove of this musical heritage to listeners. The purist approach puts the art form of Lovers Rock and classic reggae productions centre stage in uncut music tracks, making the historical and present connection of the British Isles with Jamaican music culture audible.
