WDR 1Live – Rock Hits

Under the umbrella of public-service broadcasting in Germany, this digital offshoot is dedicated entirely to hard guitar music. The program of WDR 1Live – Rock Hits consistently focuses on the rock genre and offers a specialized music selection that lies far from the usual mainstream of the big pop waves. The station targets listeners who are specifically looking for rock sounds, powerful riffs, well-known anthems, and newer productions from the rock and alternative scene.

The orientation as a pure web channel enables the station to present a continuous music format without regional FM frequencies or traditional moderation segments. The focus is exclusively on handmade guitar music and the various facets of the rock genre. Thus, the offering complements the portfolio of the young WDR station 1Live with a pure music loop for an audience that appreciates the rock focus and receives it digitally.
