WDR Event 2

WDR Event 2 operates as a special digital channel of Westdeutscher Rundfunk and primarily focuses on the time-flexible broadcasting of live events, parliamentary debates, and extensive spoken contributions. When political conferences, special broadcasts, or major societal events disrupt the regular schedule of the established waves, this special radio wave takes over the seamless transmission for the broadcast area in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The content focus consistently lies on news, detailed reports, background analyses, and documentary formats. The program completely foregoes musical entertainment or commercial advertising blocks. Listeners receive on this channel a direct, unfiltered access to current political processes and live debates, thereby giving the offering a pure and focused informational function within the public-service broadcasting system.
